Sunsets over the Atlantic are what guests remember most about this three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment on the Llandudno mountainside, next to a nature reserve. The terrace has a braai (barbecue) and covered dining, and it faces straight out to sea.
Inside there is a lounge with an indoor fireplace and TV, air conditioning, a kitchen with full kit for self-catering, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, 500 Mbps Wi-Fi and a washing machine. There is secure parking for 3 cars, backup power for outages, and security cameras on the perimeter of the property.
There is also a plunge pool on the property, and a hot tub heated by a wood fire. The tub takes about 5 hours to heat and smokes while the fire is going, so a sunset soak needs planning from the morning. The caretaker’s quarters are on site if you need help.
The apartment follows the slope, with each bedroom on its own level. A metal staircase leads to the main bedroom and the steps near the pool are steep, so please take the stairs into account when deciding who sleeps where. A separate five-bedroom villa on the same property is let to other guests, and the apartment is near a busy main road.
Llandudno has no shops or restaurants of its own, so stock up on the way in. What it does have is a surf and bodyboarding beach below the house that stays sheltered when the summer south-easter blows, and sunsets straight out over the ocean from your terrace.
