This five-bedroom villa sits high above Camps Bay, and from its deck and balcony the view runs from Lion’s Head across the Atlantic to the Twelve Apostles. It sleeps up to 10, and every bedroom has its own bathroom.
The layout suits families travelling across generations. The main house holds four bedrooms: a master with a super king bed, a king room and two queen rooms, all air-conditioned. Bedroom five, a queen room, sits in a connected garden cottage on the lowest level, with its own small kitchen, lounge and lawn, so grandparents or a second family can have their own space. A guest bathroom completes the layout.
In the open-plan lounge and dining room there is a 75-inch smart TV that includes DStv and Netflix, and the kitchen includes an automatic bean-to-cup coffee machine. Outside there is a pool, a hot tub and a braai (barbecue). Pool heating needs 24 to 48 hours’ notice and the hot tub 4 to 5 hours, so let the caretaker know ahead of time.
Guests often mention how helpful the resident caretaker is; he lives in his own quarters on the property. Cleaning is available Monday to Saturday. Wi-Fi runs at 500 Mbps. Security measures are 24-hour armed response, an alarm system, electric fencing, an automated gate with an intercom, and perimeter cameras. The villa has backup power for outages.
There are stairs inside, including up to the master bedroom, and steps down to the cottage.
Camps Bay Beach and the beachfront restaurants are about 5 minutes by car, and the V&A Waterfront and the city centre about 15. The airport is roughly 30 minutes away. At the end of the day, the deck, the hot tub and that view over the Atlantic are where the group comes back together.
